Notes
a. Note:   e is a puzzling list of people in his father's household in 1880, with only one of the twins living there listed as "HARRISON" and "HENRY" living next door. However, family tradition shows that it was the twin known as "JAMES HARRISON" who married and had a family. The puzzling thing about all of this is that by 1880, JAMES HARRISON COPELAND was married and living in Halifax with his young family, so he was actually listed in 2 different places at the same time. "HENRY COPELAND", who I am assuming was JOHN WASHINGTON, since he was next door to BEN & FRANCES COPELAND in 1880, had married ALICE RICHARDSON in 1873, where also living with them was RUINA RICHARDSON (erroneously listed as COPELAND, "cousin")who was the daughter of the late FRANCES COPELAND (JOHN W.'s sister) and JOHN FAULCON RICHARDSON. By 1891, ALICE remarried to JOHN's cousin, WILLIAM COPELAND. It is probable that JOHN W. died by that time, however, I have yet to find a record as to what exactly happened.
Note:   JOHN WASHINGTON COPELAND seems to have disappeared from the census records after 1880. Ther
