AUGUSTUS BELL, b.1874, was the son of AUGUSTUS BELL (b. abt 1828) & NANCY BELL, former slaves who married in 1859, as reported in their Granville Co. Cohabitation Marriage Record. WILLIAM BRASWELL (1874-1949), was the son of JOHN BRASWELL & BETSY PETTIFORD. SUSAN PETTIFORD (1878-1968) was the daughter of WILLIAM PETTIFORD & CAROLINE BRANDON. JOHN BRASWELL, b. abt 1828 was the son of JORDAN BRASWELL & BETSY BOOKER. BETSY PETTIFORD, b. 1845, was the dau/of WILLIAM H. PETTIFORD & AVARILLA GUY who married Apr. 7, 1942 Granville Co. NC. WILLIAM H. PETTIFORD, b.abt 1815 was the son of LEWIS PETTIFORD & DICEY BASS. AVARILLA GUY, b. 1824, was the dau/of MILES GUY (1797-1830) & BETSY BONNER.
