a. Note:   RDSON. The family was listed together in 1880, but RUINA was also listed that same year as living with her Uncle "HENRY" COPELAND, probably actually JOHN WASHINGTON COPELAND. I believe that FRANCES died in 1880, probably around the same time that the Census was taken, and RUINA went to live with her Uncle & his wife, rather than her father, possibly because it was felt that they were better able to take care of a young child.
Note:   FRANCES COPELAND married JOHN FAULCON RICHARDSON in 1874, and they had one child, RUINA RICHA
