a. Note:   er Census records of him after his marriage and his 1880 census record, where he was still living at home. But he does appear in various other records with family members prior to 1900, as well as the fact that his wife, ELIZABETH WEST, called LIZZIE, (who was not listed with him in the 1880 Census even though they got married in 1879) had children up through 1897 with him, so he did apparently live until at least that time. But, interestingly enough, LIZZIE COPELAND was listed as "divorced" in 1900, and he did remarry in 1905 Nansemond Co, VA, but can't find him or his new wife.
