Notes
a. Note:   e a slave of Richard Sneed: Cain, Aaron, and Sally. In 1848, she was sold, along with her 3 children, to William Morgan Sneed, the son of Richard Sneed. She bore a son, Terry, in 1850 while a slave of William's., I suspect that her mate was probably the slave named Charles, since the deed for the Bill of Sale in 1848 to William M. Sneed mentions Nancy and her children, and Polly and her children, plus two men, Henry, who was the father of Nancy's children, and a Negro man named Charles. Charles was purchased in 1839 by Richard Sneed from Nathaniel Williams:

POLLY was found in 1870 Kentucky under the name of POLLY ALVES.
Listed as POLLY TAYLOR on the April 23, 1883 U.S.Colored Troop Pension Application of her son, AARON ALVIS/ALVES, which seems to be the last time a record indicates that she was alive.
POLLY and her sons had been taken to Kentucky with RICHARD SNEED in 1853, and had later been among the slaves given to RICHARD's daughter, EMILY SNEED and her husband JAMES ALVIS. JAMES ALVIS was listed as the Slave Master on the FREEDMEN'S BANK RECORD of POLLY's son, CAIN ALVIS. Both CAIN and AARON ALVIS served in the U.S. COLORED TROOPS during the Civil War, where AARON died in 1865. I have not found out anything about what happened to POLLY's other 2 children, SALLY and TERRY.
