a. Note:   h the family in the 1850 census. I currently have them listed as her siblings, however, I am more inclined to believe that they were actually the grandchildren of ARCHIBALD & LUCRETIA EVANS, rather than their children because LUCRETIA would have had to have been in her 50's when they were born. It is also possible that they were the children of another UNKNOWN child of ARCHIBALD & LUCRETIA, though.

  The Board of county commissioners met in regular monthly session last Monday. Present, M.J. Hawkins, chairman, W.B. Fleming, W.S. Gardner, P.H. Allen and J.H. Wright.
 Minutes of last meeting read and approved.
 Mr. Heptinstall was sent to the County Home until his legal residence could be ascertained. Nepps Knuckle and Beverley Townes were also sent to the Home.
 Mrs. Lucy Lancaster and children were allowed three dollars per month for May and June.
 Frank Ward was allowed one dollar taking care of Mr. Heptinstall.
 Drs. P.J. Macon and T.B. Williams were placed in nomination for Supt. of Health. Williams received three votes to Macon's two on the first ballot and was declared elected.
 A motion was carried authorizing the chairman to have meridian posts put up for the county- the cost not to exceed $25.00. The same to be put in the cemetery.
 S.K. Clark was elected constable for Fishing Creek Township and Frank Twitty for Sixpound Township. Both were allowed until the next meeting to give their bonds.
 POLLY CAUDLE was allowed one dollar per month as outside pauper.
 J.H. Hayes was allowed a rebate on 80 acres of land.
 The Finance committee submitted their reports for settlements with the treasurer and sheriff. The same were received and ordered recorded.
 Dr. P.J. Macon made his monthly report as Superintendent of Health which was received and ordered recorded.
 Wm. A. White, C.S.C. made his monthly report which was received and ordered recorded.
 M.F. Thornton, Register of Deeds, reported 17 marriages license issued during April.
