Note: ere is a Marriage recorded in the Freedmen's Marriages for Granville County for ALLEN W. LYONS to ELLEN NORWOOD, registered in August 1866, where they said they had been married for 13 years(about 1853). I am wondering if this could actually be LUCY's parents because the marriage date certainly is within the time period of LUCY's birth (which shows mostly about 1850, but by 1910, she shows as being born in 1856, so it is likely to have been sometime within that time period). I think it is too coincidental to have a couple with those names, and certainly the name "ELLEN" is close enough to have been mistaken for the name "EDNA" when it came to possible pronunciations by the local dialects. It could very well be that LUCY LINES was actually from Granville County, and that ALLEN & "ELLEN" LYONS were her parents. I haven't been able to locate either of those names in the Census either, but at least it seems very plausible that they were still alive, at least in 1866.
