Note: s where he grew up on a farm and came to Michigan at age 19 years. Also, that he went to Mayo Clinic when he was ill with Cancer of the Bowel. This cancer is noted to be the primary cause of his death as learned from the Newaygo County Records on 9/20/1916, aged 50 years, so apparently he had not yet attained his 51st Birthday. The record does not state how much beyond the 50 years he had lived. That record also lists his father as having been John Roberts and his mother as having been Rachel McClarey. It is apparent from the information received to date (May 1984) that Preston Roberts and Fannie Flynn had four children: Lee, Pearl, Edna, and Maud. Of those children one, Maud, died in her fifth year, though not having attained her fifth birthday. It appears that Maud and Edna were the result of a multiple birth, though that has not yet been established. A search of the Newaygo County Records has been made for the birth record of Lee Roberts, but none can be located. The Marriage Record for Lee Roberts to Minnie Winters, reveals that when married in Newaygo, Michigan by Reverend Daniel Truman, 24th of Aug. 1909, Lee was 20 years of age, and Minnie Winters the daughter of Sam Winters and Anna Weston, was 17 years of age.
Note: It is reported by Reathel (Roberts) Carr-DeJong on information she says was obtained from Lester Roberts, that Preston Roberts was born in Duluth, Minnesota and taken at age 6 years to Olathe, Kansa
