Note: arm, but left in 1922 to work in the Upper Peninsula for the Embury-Martin Lumber Company. In 1928 he married Francis Edna Valentine of St. Ignace. They made their home until 1931 at Gilmore, Ontario, while he was employed there by Embur-Martin. He returned to the farm for a few years, but in 1935 went to Northville and worked until 1940 as a Ford car salesman. He returned to the farm on the death of his father, but in January, 1943 the family moved to Detroit, and he spent 28 months there as a Ford Motor Company plant protection guard. Since 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Richardson have lived here on the farm. In the times that they were away, the farm was operated on shares by Louis Burgtorf. He was a veteran of WWI, serving in the Navy, and was stationed for six months in England. After the war he was for a while a member of the American Legion. Mr. Richardson was active in local community affairs. He was elected a director of the school board for his district, which operates the Schanneck, Tannery, and Passino schools. He took a great interest in the Fair, and distinguished himself as president.
