William was later to be married to Sadie's sister. They were going to get eloped. When he came to the house to pick her up, she didn't want to go, so Sadie chose to go instead. NOTE: Cynthialevis - He was not a widower. She had left him with a salesman when my grandfather Perry was a child. My grandfather Perry had a sister named Jessie. Their mother was Lettie French. My grandfather would never trust a red headed woman because his mother was a red head. William S. Place was remarried to Sadie, they had two children Florence and Dale Place. Sadie was just about 30 years younger than William S. Place. * * * * * * SOURCE: Newspaper Article - No Date - No Name OBITUARY William S. Place William S. Place, son of William and Elizabeth Place was born October 15th, 1866 at Frost, Ohio, Washington Co., and departed this life April 14, 1950 at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 29 days. He had been ill only 2 weeks, having suffered a stroke. On June 24, 1912 he was united in marriage to Sadie Irene Secoy at Marietta, Ohio and was a very faithful father and husband. He was the father of four children: James Dale Place at home, Perry Owen Place of Campbell, Mrs. Frank Lindblom and Mrs. Irvon Carlson of Verona. His entire life was spent farming, most of which was in Franklin County and the last 18 years in Webster County. He leaves to mourn his departure besides his wife and four children, one brother, Robert Owen Place of Campbell, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors. We are sorrowful with his family in his passing and truly we have lost a friend. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church at 2:00 p.m. on Monday with Rev. N.H. Hawkins officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. M.L. Scoville and Mrs. Oliver Collison with Mrs. Leonard Frisbie at the piano. Burial was in the Osco Cemetery. Find A Grave Memorial# 60148952
