1. In the Name of god Amen the first day of December
2. in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Eight
3. I Thomas Wright of Marsh Side Within North Meals in the County of
4. Lancaster Husbandman being Weak of Body but of Sound and
5. perfect mind and memory praised be given to Almighty God therefore
6. do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and
7. form following That is to say first I will that all my due debts and
8. funeral Expences be paid out of my personal Estate and as touching
9. Such Worldly Estate Read and personal that it hath pleased God to Lend
10. me in this life I do Give grant and dispose of the same amongst
11. my wife and Children in the following form & manner
12. First I do Give unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth my Kitchen and
13. the Room above the s[ai]d kitchin at the house I now liveth at during
14. her Natural life if She my s[ai]d wife keeps her unmarried again
15. and Likwise I do give my said Wife the best Bed in my House and
16. Bedstids and all other furnitur to the said bed belonging at
17. her own Chargue and I do Likwise Give unto Elizabeth my Said
18. wife three pounds a year during her life to be paid of my
19. Estes as is after mentoned if She my s[ai]d Wife keeps her unmarried
20. but in Cas[e] my said wife happen to marry again it is my will and mind
21 that my Executors herein after named pay unto my said Wife tenn
22. Shillings and she imediatly to Remove from my house and so be
23. aquited of all other gifts and bequests afore granted and given
24. to her my said Wife and I do give grant and transeferr my
25. dwelling house Called the Stone house together with all the Grounds
26. that is the Said ground that I now posses about my said house the Same
27. I do give unto William Wright my Son and his Lawfull heirs dureing
28. the Indenture of Lease he the Said William my Son Yeilding and paying
29. fifty pounds of my Said Estate in the Space of Four years at after
30. my decease by Equell payments for the s[ai]d term of four years and
31. Where as I Stands Lawfully Leased of a Clos of meadow ground
32. called the Shaw Meadow by Indenture of Lease duly Executed from
33. under the hands and Seal of Robert Scarsbrick of Scarsbrick Esquire Late
34. deceased the Said Meadow called Shaw meadow I do Give grant and
35. Transfer unto John Wright My son and his heirs... Law
36. thereof he my Said Son John yeilding and paying the full and just
37. Sum of fifty pounds of Lawfull British money in the Space of
38. four years at after my Deceas by Equall payments
39. during the term therein granted and the said sums of money therein
40. Charged it is my will and mind that my Executors herein named
41. pay the said summs of money that I have Charged my
42. Two Sons to pay that is William and John to pay the same
43. summs to be paid to all my other Children that are
44. then Living Equally amongst them Share and Share alike
45. as the said money becoms due and payable yearly and it is
46 likewise my Will and mind that my Two Said Sons
47. William and John yeild and pay unto my Said Wife three
48. pounds a year dureing her naturall Life as afore within
49. Said in manner and form following that is to Say my Son
50. William pay unto my said wife his mother the yearly Sum of
51. Twenty Shillings dureing her Life and John my said Son
52. Yeild & pay unto his Mother my said Wife two pounds a year
53. during her Life as is within said and it is my will and mynd that
54. that all my goods be sould and my debts paid and the
55. Remander of my said Goods whatsover Discharge & pay
56. ing my debts to be Equally distributed amongst my
57. three Youngest Children that is to say Henry Ann and
58. Elizabeth Share & Share alik: & Lastly I do constetue and
59. apoynt William Wright John Wright my Two son &
60. Robert Wright my kinsman Joynt Executors of this
61. my Last will & testament hoping they will see all things
62. herein and within menconed truly performed as my Repose
