Lancashire William Rymer now deceased was the son of Hugh Howard and Elizabeth Rymer. Their daughter Jenny is named in the William Rymer will dated 1798 Wills and Inventories now preserved in the probate court of Chester William Rymer late of North Meols deceased proved 5th July 1798 1. In the name of god Amen in the yeare of Our Lord god One 2. Thousand Seven hundred and ninety seven this thirtieth day of 3. December I William Rimer of North Meols in the County of 4. Lancaster Gives to my Son Thomas Rimers Daughter Jenney and to my 5. son Richard Rimars Daughter Jenny and to My Son Henry 6. Rimers Dauter Jenny and to my daughter Betys Daughter Jenny 7. three Pound a peas to be paid in twelve munth and a day 8. after my deceas… His sons Henry and Thomas become his executors. Nicholas proceeded his father in death and did not have a daughter named Jenny. All of his children were sons. Richard proceeded his father in death his daughter Jenny is alive and is named as Richard’s daughter. There is no known christening record for John, There isn’t one for Thomas either but we know William had a son Thomas because Jenny his daughter is named in his father’s will. If John is also a son of William then he is living next door to his first cousin’s wife in the 1841 census. Because land rights are generally always divided equally with surviving children I believe John to also be a son of William Rymer. I am unable to find a reasonable burial or marriage for Jenny. If she did not survive then both John and his daughter would not have been named in William’s will. William had many grandchildren but chose to only mention the grandchildren who were named after his deceased wife.
