The 27 day of Jun 1833 - Joseph Howard & Henry Howard the executors in this will named were sworn in common form and they further made oath that the proposed estate and effects of the estate within the Diocese of Chester were under the value of 200 pounds, before me C.Forshaw surrogate. The executor died the 7 Jun 1833. Testament in his presence and in the presence of each other, have herunto subscribed our names. I WILLIAM HOWARD of Scarisbrick in the county of Lancaster, being very sick and weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given, to God calling into mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to Die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say - first I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and my Body I recommend to the earth, in Decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my executors but at the general Resurection I shall receive the same, by the power of Almighty God. And as touching my worldly estate = I dispose of the same in the following manner - FIRST- I give and bequeath to my Dear Wife MARGARET all my real and personall estate that is the Messinges and Outbuildings with Four Acres of Land thereunto adjoining or thereabouts be the same more or less together with all my Live Stock, Farming Utensils, my Household Goods and all my Worldly Goods. The said MARGARET my Wife to pay out of the said estate all my Funeral expenses, just Debts etc. And I herewith charge my Sons & Sons in law to pay unto my Wife Margaret during her natural Life. The sum of Seven Shillings of Lawfull money of Great Britain in and for the consideration of holding Four cottages built by me. Also, I give to my Beloved Daughter JANE the Sum of 20 pounds of Lawful money of Great Britain, at the Death of my Wife, MARGARET to be paid out of my Farming Stock, Household Goods shich at my Wife Margarets Death I order to be sold, and after paying to my Daughter JANE Twenty pounds the residue of the money to be equally divided share and share alike amoust the rest of my Children as follows - ELIZABETH MOLYNEUX, MARY MARSHALL, MARGARET HOWARD, HUGH HOWARD, JANE HOWARD, WM HOWARD, JOSEPH HOWARD, HENRY HOWARD. And I further order my Two Sons JOSEPH and HENRY to be executors of this my last will and Testament and authorise them to see this my Will fulfilled in all its parts. And I do hereby disallow revoke and disannul all other, Wills, Testaments, Lisaacies H.H. by me in any wise before named - In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this, Fourteenth Day of January One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Three.
