He was the husband of Mesiniah Brooks Ervin, and, father of Louisa Ervin Watkins. He and his wife had 10 children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.Reportedly, the Ervin Cemetery is on his old property which became the Gus Phillips Farm.
