I recently saw a posting that you made some time ago to Genform/Rootsweb which related to the Reid and/or Percival family history in the USA. With your help, I 'd like to start an exploration of my family's possible connection with yours and the information you've collected.
1. I am John R. Morrison, born in 1928, in Chester, W.Va.
2. My father, James Ingram Morrison, was born in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY in 1901 and died in W.Va. in 1990. His father was George Madison Morrison.
3. My Grandfather, George Madison Morrison, was born in Elizabethtown, KY in 1862 and died there in
1933. In 1892, he married Minnie Belle Reid [1872-1947], another Elizabethtown, KY native.
4. My grandmother, Minnie Belle Reid, was the oldest child of Frances Percefull (1855-1943KY) and William H. Reid (1843-1903KY), who were married in 1871.
5. My great-grandmother, Frances Percefull, was the daughter of Madison James Percefull (1809-1870KY) and Louisa S. Davis (1816-1869KY), who were married in 1838.
6. My great-great-grandfather, Madison James Percefull (Percival), was the son of Samuel Percifull Jr. (1783TN-1850ARK) and Elizabeth May (1789KY-1850KY), who were married in 1807.
7. My g-g-g grandfather, Samuel Percifull, was the son of Samuel Percival Sr.(1749 UK-1823KY) and Nancy Bruce (1756MD-1805KY), who were married in 1773.
8. On the other side, my great-grandfather, the William H. Reid (1843-1903 KY) above #4 was the son of Thomas D. Reid (1810-1847/50 KY) and Mary Ann Ash (1812 UK-1888 KY), who were married in 1831.
9. Continuing this thread, Thomas D. Reid above, was the son of John Reid (d 1811MD) and his (unknown last name) wife, Ann.
Can you help me identify or "find" further information about my Kentucky ancestors, the Morrison's-Reid's and Percefull's history & background, names of their parents and siblings, where they lived & died, what is their lineage and who were their ancestors, when did their ancestors come from Scotland, Ireland or elsewhere in Europe and lastly, any corrections to the information given above. I have had contact and appreciated the Percefull History collected by Bob Percefull
