Note: sease of Kidneys (now called nephritis), and was buried at Mt Vernon Cemetery, Ridge & Lehigh, Phila., PA., on May 23, 1899 in lot 491 1/4 section G. Document called "Return of a Death in the City of Philadelphia, Physician's Certificate" received from the Philadelphia City Archives, 3101 Market St., Phila., PA. The physician was P.N. Thompson, 1904 Girard Ave., Phila., PA. The undertaker was Thomas R Cleary. I went to Mt Vernon Cemetery June 18, 1999 and I was able to go through the records for the plot where Charles E Murray was buried. I found: Harry N Murray. Residence at death - 1719 W Venango. Date of death August 21, 1942. Burial date August 24,1942. Age at death 80 (so he was born 1862). Eva W Murray. Residence at death - 1719 W Venango. Date of death September 20, 1932. Burial date September 23, 1932. Age at death 54 (so she was born 1878). Katherine Kelly (aka Katy). Residence at death - St Joseph House Infirmary. Date of death February 6, 1938. Burial date February 20, 1938. Age at death 77 (so she was born 1861). It had a sentence that said "Will Book P.S. No 108 Page 293". Michael Kelly. Residence at death - Kensington Hospital. Date of death January 26, 1924. Burial date January 26,1924. Age at death 64 (so he was born 1860). There was also a paragraph that said Harry Murray and Katherine Kelly are brother and sister. The owner of the cemetery plot is Louisa Murray, date of deed May 20,1899. The Marriage License Application for Charles E. Murray and Mary Kelly at City Hall, Philadelphia, PA is #24560. The Application was made February 26, 1889. Charles Edwin Murray lived at 1118 Cumberland St and Mary Kelly lived at 18 W. Thompson St. Charles E. Murray's first wife was Caroline Cogill. The marriage is listed on page 142 of the 1870 Weddings of Philadelphia. The ceremony was performed by Methodist Rev W. C. Robinson at 252 North 13th Street. Charles is listed as a painter, born Germantown, Phila. In the 1870 Census Charles E. Murray is with his mother and siblings, they were living in the same household as a Rachel Oat and her children. Right up the street was the Cogle (Cogill) family. In the 1880 Census there are two additional children born to Charles and Caroline, that makes four children in four years.
