According to Aunt Claudine – Grandmother’s father was run over by a train when she was about 1 year old. Her mother later remarried – George Pope. In this census her name is shown as Lettie not Lillie May as shown on Grandmother’s SSN appl. I am guessing Lettie was her nickname. The children on this census are my Grandmother’s half siblings. I remember Uncle Roy (Joe R) very well and Aunt Claudine talks about Aunt Drebie (she lives in OK) and she may still be alive. I will ask Aunt Claudine. If so, she may have information about her Mother. Aunt Claudine also says that Grandmother’s father had previously been married and had several sons by his first wife. Therefore, you may just find a Clayton Thomas Jones or Thomas Clayton Jones with a different spouse. She also swears he was from Oklahoma and part Indian. I told her you had found a census record where Grandmother said her father was from South Carolina but she still thinks that is incorrect. Mom
