a. Note:   rth Record 29 Sep 1911. I cannot find any record of marriage to John McGaha, but he is listed as the father of Garfield McGaha (1916), Mel McGaha (1918), and Julia Louise McGaha (1919). However, the April 1930 Census shows John McGaha living with son Garfield, 14, and ALICE Bradley lives with son Isaac, 19, and daughter Julia, 9. Algia Bradley married Baxter Brown in Sep 1930, and I have no record of when that union ended, but by 1940 Algia Bradley lives with daughter Julia, 19, in Cocke County, TN, and Baxter Brown, whose wife Margaret Phillips died in 1911, was living with son Christley in April 1930 as a widower and is again listed as a widower living with Christley in 1940. Algia later moved with Scotte, Garfield and Julia and lived out her life in Washington County, TN, where she died in 1964. I should note that there is record of Algia and Frances living in McDowell County, NC in 1921- perhaps this is why Isaac married and settled there. Effie and Cordelia were hired out as servants to families in Cocke County. I cannot find my grandmother Nona between 1910 and Oct 31, 1924. That is the day she turned 18, and married my grandfather William Thomas Ramsey. My father remembers his grandmother to be very unpleasant, but that viewpoint appears to come from my grandfather. I don't know if the reason Grandma Nona was married on her 18th birthday was because her mother refused to give consent earlier, but it seems she despised my grandfather. He moved Nona to Haywood County, then Jackson County, NC. She died pregnant with her 13th child in 1949, at the age of 42, due to lack of prenatal care. Other than a stillborn, Grandma Nona was Algia's only child who died before her, and multiple tragedies caused Grandma to suffer the loss of 5 of her children, and permanent severe neurological impairment of another, before she died. I think my great-grandmother blamed my grandfather for all of that, and her opinion is not without merit.
Note:   There is some confusion about the date of John Robert Bradley's death- his headstone says 1908, but family records indicate it was 1914. He is listed as the fathr of Isaac Palmer Bradley on Isaac's Bi
