Hall, 63, born Illinois, painter & painter hanger; wife Margaret, 60, born Illinois, father born England, mother born Ireland; living in Greenfield city, Rockbridge Twp., Greene Co., Illinois (film T625_368, ED 48, p6B, 12 January) Greenfield, Illinois Argus, Friday, December 13, 1929 James Edward Hall James Edward Hall died at his home in this city Thursday, December 5, 1929 at 1:45 p.m. of bronchial pneumonia after an illness of one week, aged 74 years and 15 days. The deceased was born near Carlinville, Ill., Nov. 20, 1855, being the son of James L. and Margaret Lamar Hall, and moved with his parents to this vicinity during his boyhood, where he spent practically his entire life. He was married October 12, 1882, to Essie Corrington, who preceded him in death June 2, 1898. To this union seven children were born, six of who survive. They are Mrs. A. H. Shelton, of Beardstown; Miss Mabel Hall, of Springfield; Mrs. J. M. Bugg, of Elgin; Mrs. E. J. Siegel, of Chicago; Mrs. C. H. Wantland, of Macon, and Woodruff L. Hall, of this city. He is also survived by six grandchildren. He was remarried in April 1908, to Mrs. Margaret Arnold, who survives him. He was a painter by trade and an honorable and upright citizen. Funeral services were conducted from the First Methodist church in Greenfield of which he was a member, Dec. 7, 1929. Rev. C. Robertson officiating.
