Note: a Vista Co., Iowa (film T627_1143, ED11-25, p61B, 22 Apr) Oct 10, 1957 - Alice Margaret Woodward, daughter of George and Hannah Hopkins was born on a farm near Blue Mound, IL on Feb 13, 1868 and passed away to her eternal reward at a Storm Lake hospital on Friday Oct 4, 1957. She had attained the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 22 days. The early years of her life were spent on the family farm near Blue Mound, IL. There she received her education in the rural schools and there she grew to young womanhood making many wonderful and lasting friendships. On Feb 12, 1885 she was united in marriage with Edward Richardson and they made their home on a farm near Macon, IL. To this union 5 children were born: Mrs Vera Cole of Phoenix, AZ and Mrs Cora Cole, Earl F Richardson, Mrs Ada Dierwechter, and O.K. Richardson, all of Storm Lake. Eleven years later the young couple moved to Buena Vista county, where they lived on a farm six miles east of Storm Lake. In 1912 they moved to this community where they made their home until 21 years later when her husband passed away. She then sold her home and moved to California. On July 5, 1942 she was married to John S Woodward of Oakland, CA and they spent many of life's sunset years together happily. In 1952 they moved to Storm Lake in order that she might be near her family. Here they lived until God summoned her to her new home in Heaven. Among the many who will hold her memory sacred are her husband, John S Woodward of Storm Lake; two sons, Earl F Richardson and O.R. Richardson both of Storm Lake; three daughters: Mrs Elmer Cole of Phoenix, AZ and Mrs Robert E Cole and Mrs Earl Dierwechter both of Storm Lake; four grandsons, 11 grand daughters. Services were held Sunday Oct 6 from the First Baptist church. Burial was in the Lakeview cemetery.
