 there is a problem here; here and in 1910, 1 of 7 children is dead. In 1900 it would appear to be Merritt, but he is alive in the 1910 census. Moreover, he died in 1974. Hence perhaps, it was Mary that was dead in 1900; she does not appear in the 1910 census below,at age 20.
