I wish I could say the same about myself. The Macon Booster, Macon, Illinois, January 1933 (issued monthly) W. A. Arnold Dies William A. Arnold, after an illness of eight days of heart trouble and complications, died at the home of his son, Henry, in Macon, at 12:05 A. M., Sunday, Jan 8th, 1933, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 2 days. He was born near Arlington, VA. July 6, 1851, and at an early age moved with his parents to St Clair County, Ill., shortly after the Civil War. On July 26th, 1874 he was united in marriage to Florida Ann Corrington of Greenfield, Ill., who preceded him in death eleven years ago. To this union five children were born, two of which died in infancy. He moved to Macon County in 1892 where he resided ever since. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and was true to his convictions to the end. He held may minor public offices and was fair and honest in all of his dealings. Those who mourn his loss are two sons, Homer, of Sioux City; Henry, of Macon; one daugther, Mrs. Seth A. Carr, Macon; a niece, Mrs. Velma Wantland, Macon, and a half-sister, Mabel Arnold, of Los Angeles, Cal. He also leaves seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral sevices were held in the M. E. church at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, Jan 10th. Burial was in the Macon cemetery. Macon Co. Probate Case 9043, Henry Arnold Administrator
