Note: Biography After marriage John attended Coyne Electric School, Chicago, Ill. Upon graduation, he moved to Baltimore, Md., working at Glen L. Martin Aircraft for 4 years. He also volunteered for Coast Guard duty, serving 13 months, and was thereafter drafted into Anti Aircraft at Fort Bliss, Texas. He spent 33 years at A. E. Staley Co. He retired and moved to St. Charles, Mo. His hobbies are gardening and wood-working. DECATUR HERALD & REVIEW August, 1989 RECEPTION HONORS 50TH ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. John J. Renfro of 2847 N. 26th St. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open reception from 3 to 5 p.m. today in Third United Methodist church. Mr. Renfro and Juanita Ann Goken were married Aug. 20, 1939 in St. Charles, Mo. He is retired from A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. She is a retired cafeteria employee from Decatur School district 61. They are the parents of Mrs. Larry (Johnita) Miller of Oakley, Janet Hanmore of St. Charles, Mo., and Jerry Renfro of Decatur, and foster son Charles Hallam of San Antonio, Texas. Dear son of the late John A. and Esther Renfro; loving husband of 72 years to June Renfro (nee: Goken); devoted father of Johnita K. (Larry) Miller, Janet D. (Richard) Viehmann, the late Johnny A. Renfro, and the late Jerry L. Renfro; cherished grandfather of 7, great-grandfather of 13, and great-great grandfather of 3; dear brother of Kathyrn (Jack) Steele, and the late Robert Renfro, the late Clifford Renfro, the late Max Renfro, the late Bill Renfro, the late Virginia Wantland, the late Shirley Clarke, and the late Magdalene Woods. John was a member of the Third United Methodist of Decatur, IL. Services: The Family is being served by The Baue Funeral and Memorial Center. A visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2011 from 9:00-11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM Immanuel United Church of Christ, 221 Church Street, Ferguson, MO.
