DECATUR -William L. Clarke, 73, of Decatur died 11:24 p.m. Thursday (July 18, 1991) in Danville Veterans Administration Medical Center. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in East Lawn Cemetery Bloomington. No visitation. Arrangements are by Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials: Salvation Army or Disabled American Veterans Club.
Mr. Clarke was born in Hoopeston on March 23, 1918, son of William J. and Flora Belle Bybee Clarke. He was a former owner of Chicken Louie, Decatur. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Club and a U.S. Army veteran of
World War II. He married Lois Crete Simmons in 1941. She died in 1958. He married Shirley Eloise Renfrow in 1959. She died in 1982. Surviving are his daughter, Carolyn Jackson of Fox Lake; stepdaughter, Kathy of California; sister, Jewel Hall of Indiana. One brother and five sisters preceded him in death.
