STEVENS, 87, PASSES AWAY Harry H. Stevens, 87, of Pawnee died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mr. Stevens was born Jan 7, 1896 in Pomona, Ca., the son of William L. and Alice Maude (Nickles) Stevens. His wife Beulah Renfro preceded him in death January 1935. He was a hostler for the Wabash Railroad at Detroit, Mich. 44 years, WW I army veteran and a member of the Salvation Army. Surviving are four daughters, Alice May Montgomery and Kathleen Amber of Joplin, Mo.; Betty Stouse and Harriet Byrd of Dearborn Hts., Michigan; three sons, James Stevens of Casper, Wyoming; William and Walter Stevens of Pawnee; one sister, Eva Farrier of Eldorado, Arkansas; 24 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Private family services were held Saturday afternoon November 19, in the Roark-Davis Funeral Home at Pawnee with Rev. Robert Chapman officiating. Burial was at Macon Cemetery, Macon, Illinois.
