PRESS January 27, 1910, Barnhill Aunt Louisa Atteberry is very sick at the home of her son Reuben. WAYNE CO. PRESS Thursday, February 3, 1910, Budget of News from Barnhill. Albert Refrew, of Macon, is visiting relatives here. Mrs. Louisa Atteberry died at the home of her son, Reuben Atteberry, half a mile south east of Barnhill, Tuesday evening about 6 o'clock, aged about 81 years. She had been a member of the Baptist church for several years and lived a devoted Christian life until death. She leaves two sons, Mercer and Reuben, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren to mourn her death. Funeral services were conducted at the home, Wednesday afternoon by the Pastor, Rev. W.H. McCann after which the remains were laid to rest in the Barnhill cemetery. OBITUARY Louisa Atteberry, born in Wayne County, Illinois, February 22, 1827; died January 25, 1910; aged eighty-two years, eleven months, and four days. She was a sole survivor of a large family. Her maiden name was Renfro. She was married to Jacob Atteberry at about twenty years of age. To them were born, five children, four sons and one daughter. Two sons, Reuben and William, still live. These with a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends, mourn her departure. She professed faith in Christ and united with the Pleasant Grove Baptist church, Wayne Co, when quite young. Her membership remained with Pleasant Grove till the organization of Barnhill church, when she joined there. She was a truly good woman. The cause of her death was pneumonia. She left good evidence that she has gone to rest. Funeral services at the home of brother R. Atteberry, her son, where she lived and where her death occurred. The text for the sermon was Rev. 14:13. A large congregation was in attendance. Her body was laid to rest in Barnhill Cemetery. note: I have two independent sources which state birth of next older child Mark as 25 Dec 1826. On this basis, Louisa's birth could not be Feb 1827.
