Creve Couer--Betty Jean Wantland, 64, of 520 Pekin Ave., formerly of 306 Cole St., East Peoria, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday (April 23, 1990) at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Aug. 8, 1925, in Oakland to Clarence and Alice Arwine Slager, she married Harold E. Wantland on March 19, 1965, in Creve Couer. He survives.
Also surviving for one son, Michael Hagey of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Rebecca) Dodillet of East Peoria; one brother, Clarence Emerson Slager of Hopedale; one sister, Mrs. Jack (Erma) Keil of East Peoria; and two grandchildren.
She was a member of Creve Couer Christian Church where she was director of Junior Church. Serivces will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation wil be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fon Du Lac Cemetery.
