 John A. Renfro, 85, 1103 N. 18th St. died 10:10 p.m. Wednesday (July 16, 1980) in Lakeshore Manor Nursing Home.
 Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Macon Cemetery.
 Mr. Renfro was born in Macon, son of Albert A. and Luthera M. Renfro. He was a retired carpenter with Barcol Overdoors of Decatur and a member of Four-Square Church. He married Ester Richardson in 1914.
 Surviving are his wife; sons, John J., Charles "Max" and Walter "Bill", all of Decatur; Robert D. of Cleveland, Ohio; daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Wantland of Urbana; Mrs. I.J. (Magdalene) Woods of Palatka, Fla.; Mrs. Jack (Kathern) Steele and Shirley, both of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. Glen (Mamie) Loomis of Bement; Mrs. George (Lena) Seagel of Nokomis; 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
 One son, four brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren preceded him in death. -------
 After leaving the farm, upon his father's death, he lived with his Uncle Wilkerson, who taught him carpentry (communication from Martha Coulter Nalefski).
