Stever, 34, physician; other Sarah Wisel 51; living in Fairfield, Jefferson Co., Iowa (film T9_0347, p391C) ---- Fairfield Tribune June 10, 1896: Death of Mrs. Charlotte Shaw - At her home in the northeastern part of town, at one o'clock last Tuesday afternoon, occurred the death of Mrs. Charlotte Shaw, wife of george shaw, in th 89th year of her age. She had been a resident of Iowa since 1855, and of Jefferson county since 1864. Mrs. Shaw was born in the state of New York Jan. 23, 1808. In 1816 she moved with her parents to Pennsylvania. From there in 1820 she went with her family to Knox county, Ohio, and in 1828 was married to George Shaw. After living for a time in Iowa county, this state, Mrs. Shaw became a resident of this county in 1864, locating on a farm. In 1870 (sic. likely because of the death of her husband the year before) she became a resident of this city, wherre she has lived for the past twenty-five years. Two children were born to Mrs. Shaw, one dying in infancy, and the other, Enos Shaw, still surviving. The funeral was held at the late residence Wednesday morning, Rev. J.A. Boatman, of the Methodist church, officiating.
