  Mrs. Smith's Death
 Mrs. Susan Smith, wife of Mr. James Smith passed away at 5 o'clock this morning at her home, 209 South East Seventh Street, aged 47 years. She was the mother of Alderman J. P. Smith and Michael Smith, assistant chief of the fire department and Thomas James, William and George, and two girls, Maggie and Lizzie Smith. Her death was very sudden and unexpected, she having been ill but two weeks, although she had never entirely recovered from the shock of her daughter's death six weeks ago. Mrs. Smith was a member of the East Side Catholic church, and was a most estimable woman; a tender wife, a kind mother, and a faithful friend. Her death will be mourned by a large circle of friends. The funeral will occur Thursday morning.
