Letter received by Eileen Vaubel ~1995:
 Vaubel Family Reunion
 Dear Eileen Vaubel,
The intervals at which our now widely scattered family unites for a reunion have been great. The last took place in 1949, when a small group of family members convened.
A family reunion is taking place in Germany on the 18th of October. Many family members will then meet for the first time. We would like greet all the descendentsof Vaubel ffamily members who emigrated to the United States during the last century.
To our knowledge, this would include Herrmann Ludwig Vaubel, who emigrated to St. Louis in 1848 after the death of his father, Philipp Jakob Vaubel, a clergyman in Lindenfels and Charles Frederick Vaubel, who moved to New Jersey in 1872. Reichensachsen (Wehretal), the village where he was born, is located on a few kilometers away from the hotel (former monastery) where the family will gather.
