Riley-Vaubel Wedding at St. Paul's Church Today
The wedding of Eileen Riley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron G. Riley, 813 N. Third street, and Rex Vaubel, Pfc., USA, son of Mrs. O.C. Vaubel of Dysart, Ia., and the late Mr. Vaubel, was solemnized at St. Paul's church at 11 o'clock this morning.
Rt. Rev. Msgr. Walter E. Cullinan, pastor, officiated at the service for which an all-white setting was used. Bouquets of white roses, asters and gladioli were arranged on the altars. The ceremony was read in front of white carnation trees which, with palms, banked the sanctuary rail.
Robert Wolf Jr. was vocal solist. Mrs. William A. Witte, organist, played the wedding processional and recessional marches.
Bride's Attire
Entering with her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin fashioned with sweetheart neckline, bodice with lace yoke and lace-capped sleeves made long with points over the wrists. Lace inserts ornamented the waistline and the skirt, made with long train edged with lace which matched the lace on her veil. The veil fell from a pearl-studded tiara. Orange blossoms were used across the back of the head. She carried white roses and white orchids tied with white satin and lace.
The bridesmaids, Mary Ann Riley, sister of the bride and Gretchen Sutter, were attired in corn yellow satin dresses designed on the same lines, with sweetheart necklines and three-quarter-length shirred sleeves of slipper satin. The full skirts were of ninon sheer of satin. They wore tiaras of rust and yellow net and carried bouquets of shaded chrysanthemems in gold, rust, lavender, yellow and red, tied with gold satin.
Dean Vaubel of Dysart was his brother's attendant and Robert Nyers and Marvin McClow, both of Iowa City, and Joseph Schupp Jr., cousin of the bride, ushered.
Mrs. Riley wore a dark green 2-piece sild dress and black hat and the bridegroom's mother was attired in a 3-piece brown suit. Their corsages were of chrysanthemums.
Breakfast a Golf Club
The wedding breakfast took place at the Burlington golf club house. Guests were received in front of the fireplace decorated with canelabras, fall-colored chrysanthemems and oak foliage. Breakfast tables were centered with clusters of crystal globes centralized with white tapers and filled with vari-colored flower petals in autumn hues.
Mr. and Mrs. Vaubel left on a trip to Chicago, the bride wearing a green wool 2-piece suit with Chesterfield collar, black hat and gloves and an orchid. She wore an Eisenberg pin, givt of the bridegroom. They will live at 811 E. College St., Iowa City.
Both young people were graduated from the State University of Iowa, Iowas City. Mrs. Vaubel affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Mr. Vaubel, a senior in the medical college at the university, is a member of Phi Beta Pi, medical fraternity and Phit Beta Kappa, honorary scholastic fraternity.

Riley of Des Moines; Mrs. Robert Myers of Iowa City; Mrs. Harold Knight of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Paul McNally and Denise McNally of Lewiston, Ill.; Claude Anderson of Chicago and Mrs. Harry Sowden of Washington, Ia.

Dr. Rex O. Vaubel
Rosary for Dr. Rex O. Vaubel, 55, a Phoenix surgeon, will be at 8 p.m. today in Arcadia Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in St. Francis Xavier Church.
Dr. Vaubel resided at 117 W. Glenn and died yesterday in a Phoenix hospital. He had been a staff member at Good Samaritan, St. Luke's, John C. Lincoln, Doctors and Phoenix Baptist hospitals.
He came to Arizona in 1952 from Iowas and was a graduate of the University of Iowa medical school. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the american College of Surgeons, American Board of Surgery and Osler Medical Society. Survivors include his wife, Eileen, two sons, Rex R. and Stephen; a daughter, Kathleen Plomin; a sister, two brothers and two grandchildren.

Dr. Rex Vaubel Dies in Phoenix.
Dr. Rex O. Vaubel, 55, a Phoenix surgeon, of 117 W. Glen Drive, Phoenix, Ariz., died March 27 in St. Joseph's Hospital at Phoenix.
He suffered an aneurysm and had been hospitalized for approximately a month before his death.
He had been on the staffs of St. Joseph's, St. Luke's Good Samaritan, Doctor's, John. C. Lincoln, and Phoenix Baptist Hospital. graduated in 1945 from the Iowas Medical School and served his internship and surgery residency in Iowa at the University Hospital.
Surviving are his widow, Eileen; two sons, Rex R. and Stephen; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Plomin; two brothers, Dr. E.K. (Ellis) Vaubel of Estherville and Dean E. Vaubel of Dysart; a sister, Helene M. Pierce of Milwaukee, Wis.; two uncles, Lyle Vaubel of the Dysart and Waterloo areas and Earl Vaubel of Traer; and a number of other relatives survive.
Rex was the son of Mabel and Ollie vaubel, both preceding him in death. Rex grew up in the Dysart area and his undergraduate schooling was obtained in the Dysart schools.
The funeral was held on March 29 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church of Phoenix.
An estimated 1,000 people attended these services.
