Two sisters, Etje Catherine and Antje Catherine, having names that probably sounded very similar, married John Backers, and it is probable, given the only two census ages of this John Backer's wife being closer to 1834 than 1839, that Etje Catherine Folkers married a man called John J. Backer, a baker, and Antje Catherine Folkers married a man called Jan Harms Backer, a blacksmith.]

Harms, just like in 1900 - either they both moved, or the census twp or demarcation changed.
