Milne Drops Dead Robert B. Milne, 75, dropped dead in the basement of his home here this Thursday morning, while tending his furnace. He went to the basement at about 7:30 a.m. and was found half an hour later lying dead on the floor. He had removed the clinkers from the furnace but had not started the fire. He was born near Dysart, the son of Jane and Andrew Milne, on July 11, 1868, and lived in this vicinity all of his life except for a few years in South Dakota and in Waterloo. He came to La Porte City in 1936. He married Lillian Sintzel of near Dysart on April 12, 1901, at Bristol. S.D., who survives, as does one son, Donald R. Milne of Waterloo and a grandson, Ronald D. Milne. Brothers and sisters include Will of La Porte City and Herman, Fred, Dave and James of Dysart, Mrs. Charles Vaupel of near Dysart and Mrs. Susan Zwilling of State Center, Iowa. The body was taken to the Barnhart and Johannsen funeral home where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Find-a-Grave: Robert B.
