 Last Rites for Mrs. W. Milne Here Today
 Mrs. W.W. Milne, a long time resident of La Porte City, succumbed to death at 3:30 a.m. Monday in War Memorial hospital, Sault Ste Marie, Mich., at the age of 84 years.
 Death was attributed to complications resulting from a fractured hip. She had suffered the injurty two weeks earlier in a fall in the home of her daughter Mrs. Harold Bruce of Sault Ste. Marie.
 The body was brought to La Porte City Tuesday afternoon and is at the Johannsen Funeral home.
 Services Today
 Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in the Johannsen Funeral home with Rev. D.R. Corrick, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating.
 Burial will be in the family lot in West View cemetery.
 Jennie Wallis was one of seven children of Joseph and Ann Elizabeth Wallis. She was born at Gratiot, Wis., Aug. 6, 1869. When three years old she moved to a farm near Chapin, Iowa, with her parents.
 After attaining womanhood on the farm she went to Sheffield to live and was married there to William W. Milne, Oct. 10, 1900. They established a home in Sheffield where they resided until moving to Minneapolis, Minn in 1902.
 Moved Here
 In 1904 they moved to a farm southwest of La Porte City in Bruce township, Benton county. The family came to La Porte City in 1910, when Mr. Milne became manager of the Farmer’s Co-operative Exchange. This city remained her home until about a year ago when her health declined and she went to Sault Ste. Marie to live with her daughter, Mrs. Bruce.
 Mr. Milne died June 24, 1947. Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
 Surviving are one son, Joseph Milne of La Porte City; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce of Sault Ste. Marie and Mrs. John Kettlesen of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Richard Bruce, of Cleveland, Ohio; Pfc. Russell Bruce, enroute to Germany; A-2c William Milne of Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Meyers Thornton of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Francis Keegan of La Porte City; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Wallis of Albany, Calif. and one sister, Miss Rebecca Wallis of Sault St. Marie, Mich.
 Mrs. Milne was a member of the Methodist church and its organizations and was faithful in church attendance as long as her health permitted. She taught a Sunday school class for a number of years and was active in the work of the women’s societies.
