  Letters from brother John to sister Jane (Stringer) Milne c. 1864 mention that William lives in Barrytown, Duchess Co. [New York]. Barrytown is on the Hudson River, in Dutchess Co., but just across the river from Ulster Co., about 130km north of New York City.
  18 May 1864 William Stringer signed a loyalty oath in St. Charles Co., MO (image in the media section).
