[according to WorldConnect, the LaNeave family is from Mecklenburg Co., VA and featured in a book of Cunningham genealogy (Cunninghams also on the same page as Catherine Ralston). A Jacob Ahart that lived in Trigg Co. married Susannah Wallace (b. 1819 in Stewart Co. TN) had a son George W. who married Ann Elizabeth LaNeave, daughter of Horatio W. Laneave and Mary Wallace.]
[The only Mary Ralston near Trigg Co. to marry Samuel LaNeave is Mary daughter of William and Catherine, but in 1860, she is still going by Mary Ralston. It is possible that she married him (he is 22 years older than her) in 1852 and he died shortly thereafter, so she reverted to her mainden name. It is also possible that a Mary Ralston from elsewhere in the state (eg Barren Co.) could have come in to marry him. Neither seems very likely.]
