  Wayne Co., KY tax records 1833 (no 1832 book) through 1837. This is probably the Jeremiah S. Pierce who was a state legislator from Russell Co. 1830-1832, resigned by 13 June 1831 letter, and then was state legislator from Wayne Co. 1836 ( History of KY, by Collins, vol. 2).

 23 May 1836: John M. Stephenson appointed guardian of Polly Ann, Leander J., Thomas V., Hiram J., and Edmund W. Stephenson. Bond by James Gervin, Jeremiah S. Pierce and Thomas M. Callum.
 22 Aug 1836: J.S. Pierce appointed (w/ others) trustee (who may accept donations for erecting an ordinary near Dibrell's house).

 28 Nov 1836: acct. to Jeremiah S. Pierce - $15.00
 27 Mar 1837: acct. to J.S. Pierce - $25.00 for his attending to Rebecca Morgan [apparently an indigent] and it is further ordered that he continues his attentions to her, for which the court aggrees to make him a proper allowance.
 22 Mar 1837: Ordered that J.S. Pierce be commissoner of the stray found in place of B. Hading.
 26 Jun 1837: Bartholomew Meadow appointed county treasurer. $5000 bond by Jeremiah S. Pierce and others.
 28 Aug 1837: On motion of Martin Beaty Esq. ordered that Thomas Beaty be and is hereby appointed a processioner of land for the county of Wayne and in place of Jeremiah S. Pierce, who will in a short time [move?].
 28 Aug 1837: Micajah Phillips came into court and relinquished all rights and claims to the land on which the present Road runs from Monticello to Columbia, and all that part which by between said Road & Doct. J. S. Pierce lives ... [shows that Doctor Jeremiah S. Pierce (1803-1856) and the above Jeremiah S. Pierce (Abt 1798-1838/40) both lived in Wayne county at the same time, but that the doctor was given his title to tell them apart in the records.
 28 Aug 1837: On motion of Martin Beaty - calls for a road to be made and refers to Jeremiah S. Pierce as one of those who walk out the nearest and best way from here to there [a processioner].
  Jeremiah S. Pierce died prior to his father (Abt 12 Oct 1840), but a will or administration is not extant in Wayne Co. or Russell Co. According to Memoirs of the Lower Ohio Valley 1905 bio of Jacob A. Pierce, Jeremiah died in Russell Co. [but his daughter married in Jefferson Co., TN in 1836].
  Memoirs of the Lower Ohio Valley, p. 182: (Bio of Jacob A. Pierce) states Jeremiah died in Russell Co. and Jane in Crittenden Co.
  There is a Jeremiah Stanton Pierce Holder b. 10 May 1863 in Russell Co. to Jeremiah C. Holder; Jer St Pierce Holder married Laura Coffey in Russell Co. in 1885.
