Note: Walker Bond was born 1798/1799 in the northern part Scott Co., KY. He was named after his uncle Walker Bond (~1767-1832) who lived nearby. Walker was probably the surname of #11's grandmother Fanny. As a boy, he accompanied his family in 1803 to a part of Gallatin Co., KY that would later become Owen Co., KY. He lived in his father's household until his marriage 1 Mar 1827; Owen Co., KY marriage register . Walker Bond and Lucy Stegar received a small legacy from her father, John Stegar, in 1830 . Walker purchased in 1833 150 acres of land on Eagle Creek in Gallatin Co. from the Rev. John Scott, the father of his sister-in-law Harriet, wife of William Bond. In fact, this land is very close to the parcel that John Scott gave to William and Harriet 10 years earlier. Lucy died sometime between the 1850 and 1860 censes. Walker died ~15 Sep 1864, when his will was probated . His will divided his estate, consisting of 127 acres on Lick Creek, Carroll Co. (probably the same land as above), and a slave and her seven children, equally between his two children. Considering the date, a legacy of slaves had dubious value. Mentioned in Gallatin Co. Deed Bk C, p41 (1813) Walker was named after his uncle Walker, one of the four brothers (John, William, Robert and Walker) who, along with Robert Sale, came to KY about 1800. 1820 census, Gallatin, Kentucky: John Bonds 3-0-0-2-0-1 / 1-0-1-1-0 [Robert and Walker are the two males 16-26, as William has his own entry on the same page] 1830 census Gallatin Co, KY, p. 167: Walker Bond 1-0-0-0-1(20-30)/1-0-0-0-1(20-30) 1840 census Carroll Co., KY, p. 150: Walker Bond 0010001/001001 1850 census Carroll Co., KY, p. 181: Bond, Walker 52 KY farmer; John S. 21 plasterer; Mary E. 19 1860 census Carroll Co., KY, p. 102: Bond, Walker 63 m w farmer 3125 5353 KY John Saml 29 m w farm laborer - 71 KY Sale, Mrs. Nancy 27 f w farm laborer 400 1500 KY William Sale 5 m w; KY; Lucy Sale 3 f w KY; M.
