a. Note:   This is the famous Uncle Larry about whom my father and aunts spoke. He was much beloved by the children of the family for his scary tales by the fireside. My father, Richard Corrigan, visited Ireland for an entire summer in 1911, and helped out on the farm in Frayne, learning much about the land and his relatives.
 His grandmother, Kate Gaffney, entertained a huge household of her grands and their cousins, etc., every summer. My Dad had such fond recollections of these days.
 Uncle Larry played a big part; Daddy remembered his tales years later and recounted them to us. A favorite was about the Devil's Goats mowing the fields at night with their flaming tails. (In reality, what the children were seeing from a distance were the farmers returning home from the fields, swinging their lanterns.)
 It was a magical time in the life of my father and his sisters.
