STUDE DODGE CITY -- Ruth Elaine Stude, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Manor Of The Plains in Dodge City. She was born Dec. 28, 1918, to William Henry and Louise (Hildebrand) Witt in Stafford. She married Howard William Stude May 2, 1941, in Bison. He survives. She had been a resident of Bison until her marriage and then she moved to a farm northwest of Copeland. She moved to the southeast edge of Copeland in 1947, where she lived until 1957, when she moved to Meade County. She had been a resident of Manor Of The Plains in Dodge City since May of 1990. She was a homemaker. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Dodge City, UMW in Dodge City, Copeland American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 369 in Copeland, MI Club in Copeland and the American Agricultural Movement. She was a former member of United Methodist Church in Copeland. Other survivors include one son, John William Stude and wife, Ruth, Houston; two daughters, Marilyn Sue Webb and husband, Mark, Plains, and Carolyn Ruth Perry and husband, Tim, Corbin, Ky.; one brother, Arthur Witt, Claflin; one sister, Helen Zimmerman, Columbus, Neb; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kathryn Rogers; and one sister, Ethel Tombaugh. * Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Copeland with the Revs. Warren Cico and Dick Robbins presiding. Burial will be at Copeland Cemetery in Copeland. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Montezuma Funeral Home in Montezuma and from 3-7 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, 210 Soule Street, Dodge City.
