Notes
a. Note:   Beverly was born 30 Aug 1931 at her parent's home, 3539 N. 59th St, Omaha, NE. She and her brother Robert moved often around the midwest as her father Dwight was a telephone equipment installer with Western Electric.
Beverly had musical talent and played the clarinet, oboe and piano. She had hoped to perhaps play professionally and/or attend college, but when she was attending school in Racine, WI, she met the man she would later marry, Donald Beyer, and her life proceeded down a different path.
Beverly eloped with Don to Kalamazoo, MI, at the young age of 17, later having a church wedding for family in Racine. Over the years, the couple had 5 children, one of which died in childbirth. In 1955 after the birth of daughter Teri, the family was compelled to move from Racine, WI, to Tucson Arizona due to serious asthma attacks for Teri and brother Brian. At that time, there was no treatment for asthma other than moving to a 'dry' climate such as Arizona.
In later years, Beverly and Don lived in Missoula, MT, and Coeur d'Alene, ID, to be closer to their children. Following the death of Donald in 1999, Beverly moved to Everett, WA, near where Gary, Teri and Mickey were living, and lived out her days in a mobile home park in Carriage Club Estates. Beverly died of lung cancer in 2011.
  OBITUARY:
EVERETT, WASH. - Beverly Ann Beyer, 79, passed peacefully into the afterlife on May 10, 2011, at her home, following a battle with cancer. She was born in Omaha, Neb., on Aug 30, 1931, the daughter of Dwight E. Rice and Helen E. Gilliam. In her early years, Beverly was an aspiring musician and played clarinet, oboe and piano in school. For a time, she lived in Racine, WI, where she attended high school and worked as a part-time lifeguard on Lake Michigan. While in Racine, she met her future husband, Donald W. Beyer, and together they raised four children in Tucson, and later Phoenix, Arizona. Once in retirement, Bev and Don moved to Missoula, Mont., and later settled in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Beverly loved to attend her church and sang in the choir whenever she was able. She embraced life as it came and looked for beauty in the everyday world around her. She believed that death is not an ending but a new beginning, a doorway to new and wonderful things beyond, and did not fear what was to come. Beverly is survived by her four children, Gary, Brian, Teri and Michael; seven grandchildren, David, Richard, Crystal, Jessica, Kimberly, Jennifer and Emily; and five great-grandchildren. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Veteran’s Wall of Honor in Coeur d’Alene, ID on Memorial Weekend, May 28th. This obituary is not a ‘farewell’, but rather a wish for ‘Godspeed’ on her amazing journey ahead.
