Note: Mildred E. (Ludy) Strouse, 85, wife of the late Earl H. Strouse Jr., of Manatawny Manor, passed away on Saturday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Luther J. and Helen M. (Stufflet) Ludy. She is survived by sons, Gary E. Strouse, husband of Elizabeth M., of Birdsboro, and Alan L. Strouse, husband of Lisa M., of Birdsboro; daughter, Rev. Susan M. Strouse of Berkeley, Calif.; and sisters Kathryn Ludy, of King of Prussia, and Helen Eck, of Pottstown. Also surviving is grandson Logan E. Strouse. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brother, Luther J. Ludy Jr.; and grandson Kristopher M. Hoffman. Mildred was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pottstown where she was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She was also a Den Mother for Grace Lutheran Church Troop No. 99 for five years. Mildred worked as a secretary for the former Jacob's Aircraft Engine Company in Pottstown. She retired from there in 1950.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
