a. Note:   Charles Levan, age 76 years, 6 months and 18 days, died yesterday morning at the home of his son-in-law, Horace Bechtel, Frick's Locks, Chester County, from complications due to old age. He was bedfast for 8 weeks. Deceased was the son of the late Peter and Catharine Levan, and was born at Topton, Berks County. His wife, Mary, died 16 years ago. The following children survived; Annie, wife of Horace Bechtel, of Frick's Locks; Peter of Douglassville; James, of Pughtown; John and Harvey Levan, of Pottstown; Jennie, wife of Isreal Swavely, a brother of Peter Levan of Reading and three sisters, Mrs. Jonathan Roming, of Alburtis; Mrs. Sarah Ware, Allentown; Mrs. Lovina Plattenberger, of Emmaus. He was a member of the Zion's Reformed Church, Pottstown. He was a carpenter by trade. He lived for thirty years in Lower Pottsgrove Township and retired three years ago from active duty. Charles Levan was layed to rest at Pottstown West Cemetary.
