 Lifetime resident of Spring-Ford
  Eugene E. ``Euie´´ Halteman, 76, husband of Caroline B. (Lee) Halteman, of Heckel Avenue, Spring City, a self-employed general contractor who was involved in many community activities, died Sunday night in Main Line Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paoli, where he had been a guest for the past seven months. He suffered a lengthy illness. Born in Royersford, he was a son of the late Josiah S. and Katie (Emery) Halteman. Mr. Halteman was a resident of the Spring-Ford area all of his life. A 1932 graduate of the former Royersford High School, he was a member of Spring city United Methodist Church, Spring city Lodge No. 553 F.&A.M. and Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest No. 34 in Spring City.Mr. Halteman was also a former member of the Spring City Lions Club, a member of Vincent Lodge No. 762 Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Spring City and a life member of the Liberty Fire Company of Spring City. He was also a member of the Humane Fire Company and the Friendship Fire Company, both of Royersford. Mr. Halteman was a former member of the Spring city Parks and Recreation Committee and was active during the planning and implementation of the Spring-City Pool. He was a former member of the Spring City School Board and a member of the Spring-Ford School-Ford School Board for 12 years after the school district´s jointure. He served as the board´s secretary. Mr. Halteman was also a trustee of the former Spring City Building and Loans Association, which is now Brandywine Savings Bank. He was past president of the Tuscarora Hunting Club in Mifflin County. Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Sandra H., wife of Jon Boettger, Carol H., wife of Barry Vining and Janet E., widow of James Trythall, all of Royersford and Beth E., wife of Edward Yanocha, of Spring City; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Shalkop-Grace Funeral Home Inc. 335 Bridge St., Spring City. A viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic Service will be at 8 p.m. by Spring City Lodge No. 553 F.&A.M.
