C. Pearl (Edwards) Schaeffer, 68, widow of Mark G. Schaeffer of Boyertown RD 5, died Sunday evening in the Reading Hospital where she was a patient since Friday. Born in Mount Carmel Township, Northumberland County, she was daughter of the late George H. and Katie (Shipp) Edwards. She worked for the Wagner Division of McGraw Edison Co., Boyertown, until retiring in 1985. Surviving are a son, David R. of New Berlinville; a daughter, Dawn C., widow of Richard L. Frey of Bechtelsville; and three grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the L. W. Ott Funeral Home Inc., 111 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown. The Rev. Theodore C. Mefferd, pastor of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, New Berlinville, will officiate. Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs, Schuylkill County. A viewing will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Grace E. C. Church, Locustdale, Pennsylvania 17945.
