Note: Ap/5 Co B 159 Engr Combat World War 2 on the headstone. MARK SCHAEFFER 1915 - 1974 Mark Schaeffer, Bethlehem Steel Retiree, Dies Mark G. Schaeffer, 59, husband of Pearl (Edwards) Schaeffer, Edgehill Road, Boyertown RD 1, died Sunday morning in Reading Hospital where he was a patient a week. Born in Llewellyn, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late James and Lottie (Keim) Schaeffer. He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corp. 20 years and retired last September. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theater. He was a member of the Charles B. Yerger Post 471, American Legion. Surviving with his widow are a son, David R., Deep Creek Road, Perkiomenville, RD 1; a daughter, Dawn C. wife of Richard L. Frey, 60 Franklin Street, Bechtelsville; a brother, George, Warminster; a sister, Jean, wife of Lamar Gross, Lavelle. Also, a half-brother, Donald Keller, Locustdale; six step-sisters, Helen, widow of William Muchler, Clarks Summitt; Elva, wife of Allen Newcomer, Hershey; Ellen, widow of Paul Diefenderfer, and Dorothy, wife of Nelson Tiley, both of Ashland. And, Fern, wife of Felix Klock; Marion, wife of William Price, both of Locustdale, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Wednesday from L.W. Ott Funeral Home, 111 N. Reading Avenue, Boyertown. The Rev. Charles L. Willman, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, Oley, will officiate. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs, Schuylkill County.
