 CHARLES W. LEVAN, 72, died yesterday morning at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Botts, 138 South Franklin Street. He was a native of Rockland Township, son of the late Charles and Mary (Angstadt) Levan, and up until his retirement 4 years ago, was employed as a night watchman for 28 years at the Boyertown Burial Casket company plant. He was a member of the Keystone Fire Company, Boyertown; the Sterling Athletic Club, Boyertown RD 2; Pike Township Sportsmen´s Association and St. John´s Hill Reformed church. He was twice married, first to the late Jennie Decker, later, to the former Gertrude Moser, also deceased. Surviving are these children by the first marriage; Mary, wife of William Botts, where he resided; Anna, wife of Leou Groff; Maria, wife of Harvey Haring, and William, all of Boyertown RD 2; and Sara, wife of Henry Kulp, Orefield RD 1; 33 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lillian, wife of Thomas Diener, Boyertown; Jennie, wife of Israel Swavely, Beech and Henry street, Pottstown; also 2 brothers, John, of 585 Jefferson street, Pottstown, and Peter, of Douglassville. Services will be held from a funeral home at 124 West Philadelphia avenue Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Further services will be held in St. John´s Hill Reformed church. The Rev. John L. Herbster, will officiate. Interment will be made in Hill Church cemetery.
