 John C. Levan Sr., 51, husband of M. Mae (Edwards) Levan, Pottstown RD 3, died Sunday night in the Pottstown hospital after an illness of several months. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late John F. and Jennie (Quinter) Levan.His Step-mother, Mrs. Ella (Baker) Levan lives at 82 Warren street. He was a salesman for the Schulz Baking company for the past eight years. He was also a member of the Zion´s Reformed United Church of Christ and the Lower Frederick fire company. Surviving with his wife and step-mother is a son John C. Levan Jr., of Pottstown Route 18; two daughters, Anna M., wife of Ronald W. Strouse, 1062 Hale street, and Constance, wife of Russell M. Meyers, Pennsburg RD1: a sister, Mrs. Edna DeKalb, 517 High street; a brother, Frank W. Levan, Pottstown Route 18, and seven grandchildren. Services will be conducted Thursday from the Schumacher and Reber Funeral home, 359 King street, at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Howard A Kosman, pastor of the Zion´s Reformed United Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories.
