Note: Fred W. Edwards of Spring Crest, Ashland RD 1, died Saturday evening in Ashland State Hospital, where he was admitted January 13. He had been in ill health several years. Born at Locust Dale May 10, 1888, Mr. Edwards was a son of the late James and Minnie (Felker) Edwards. He had been a resident of the Ashland RD area for a number of years. Retired, he had been last employed as a janitor at the Fountain Springs elementary school. He formerly worked at Potts Colliery. He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Ashland, and Locust Mountain Lodge No. 538 IOOF, Ashland. Surviving are, his wife, the former Anne Brachman; a daughter Catherine, wife of William Wallace, of Spring Crest, RD 1Ashland; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon from Norman Evans Funeral Home, Fountain Springs. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. The Rev. Robert G. Hughes, pastor of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd, will officiate at services.
